"My name is Ernest Gromov. I'm a Russian-born male model and young actor currently based in London, United Kingdom.
Born in the final years of the Soviet Union, my country collapsed on my second birthday and descended into ten years of crime, poverty and chaos. I have seen and have been through a lot as a young boy in 1990s Russia and teenager in 2000s UK, which has made me into the strong and complex individual that I am today.
At age 23 I have already done a variety of shoots and catwalks for top names Hugo Boss and Boxfresh, as well as some talented new designers like Vekras, Maison Badalov, and Kitoko. I also model for the top European hairstyling company Vidal Sassoon. I am now gradually expanding my portfolio from fashion into fitness and underwear, and have already been featured in DNA, The Island and Fashionably Male by the talented Joe McCormick (London), Grant Adam (Scotland) and Luigi Lam (Costa Rica), respectively.
As an actor I recently started getting small parts on mainstream TV shows here in the UK, appearing as a Russian cosmonaut on BBC's 'Horrible Histories', a Nazi soldier in SkyOne's 'A Touch of Cloth' and a New York waiter in 'Burton and Taylor' with Helena Bonham Carter. I have also joined the main cast of 'Fall to the Ground' as a Russian gangster Ivan. I was also recently featured as a model in music videos of popular UK music artists, Angel (Universal) and Tanya Lacey (form. SONY/BMG).
In my free time I enjoy working out at the gym, following international affairs, reading books on history, rapping and going to dancehall/bashment, afrobeats and hip-hop raves with my Black-Russian-White-Asian-Latin clique.
My role models are LL Cool J, Vladimir Putin, Vladimir Mashkov and Channing Tatum.
Looking ahead, my ambition is to develop and grow as a model and actor. I plan to use my eventual credibility to influence the youth as a public figure and positive male role model. In the future, I would like to use my International Relations Degree and knowledge gained over the years to set up an international development and cultural exchange NGO that would tackle issues such as racism and other types of discrimination.
I am confident, down to earth, enthusiastic about new projects, hard working, persevering, intelligent, open minded to difference and versatile to change."
