I heart Magic Mike

Friday night movie night with the girls is the best. After meeting up for a few different Twilight movies, as well as the Hunger Games, you'd think we would have it down; and normally we do. Unfortunately this time, the theatre killed our buzz a little.
The ladies and I arrived at Landmark in West LA a full hour and half before showtime and had a few laughs over a couple glasses of wine--this, I have discovered, is a key element to a "ladies movie night." Letting go of a long week and placing oneself in the mindset of fun makes for a relaxing and enjoyable kick off to the weekend. When I popped over to the machine to pick up our tickets, they were "unable to find" them. Uh oh. I headed to the box office and the poor dude behind the computer sent me to concierge. Double uh oh. As the concierge apologized again and again for the "glitch" that caused my ticket sale to be lost, and the fact that the film was completely sold out for EVERY showing that evening (nicely done, WB); I felt myself getting very upset. I had been looking forward to seeing Magic Mike since it's infancy--if ever a movie had been created for me, this was it (aside from the fact that Clooney wasn't in it, but perfection is unattainable).
I walked away from concierge with some free movie passes and the terrible job of letting the ladies know we were NOT going to the movies.
After much debate, we settled on another movie and I approached our contact to see what she could do to help. "I have one ticket for Magic Mike. Someone just returned it."
Dang it. What's a girl to do?
To make a long story short, the ladies insisted I take the ticket and they went to the other movie. I sat alone, amongst hundreds of screaming women and enjoyed myself. The movie was entertaining, the men were sexy, and crowd went nuts. I loved every minute of it, even if I was wishing my girls were there with me--somehow cat calling alone is a little creepy (although it did not stop me).
Good job, Soderbergh. Me gusta mucho. I will, without a doubt, be seeing this movie again. And maybe again after that. Hopefully next time with my crew in tow.
P.S. This is amazing...CHAN-O-GRAM! Do it.
